It’s a trend that’s taking over with clients and technicians seeking individuality.

So like I said nail art is the practice of painting decorative designs on your fingernails, it is a great and fun way to brighten up your everyday look or even for that special occasion and outfit.

There are so many nail art design available, ranging from the subtle and understated to funky and outrageous and the very way out there. For example, you could choose to paint flowers on your nails for a date or spell out the name of your favourite team on the day of the big game.

The key to any successful nail art design is starting with clean and well-shaped nails. Nails should be neatly trimmed and filed before painting. Even the most accomplished artist can’t create an attractive design on nails that have been bitten down to stubs. If your natural nails are beyond repair, consider applying artificial nails before having your nail art design done.

Once the nails have been painted with a base coat, your design can begin. When doing nail art work it should be done as fast as possible, since the nail polish dries fairly quickly.

You must remember as nail art is done by hand no two nails are going to be the exact same, so bare that in mind if you are having free style nail art.

While most nail art designs are created simply using various colours of nail polish, you can add sparkle to your designs by mixing glitter, gems or nail strips to one or more of the polish. You can also use tiny stickers which can make it easier to create more elaborate designs.

Once your nail art has been finished,  a coat of protective clear nail polish will be placed over your nail art design, this should keep your design for as long as you want or until you come back for another design. As you will become hooked.

Please note that you should wear gloves when doing household tasks that may damage your nails and please resist the urge to pick or bite your nails.

These prices will depend on how much work goes into each nail art and how long it will take, nail art work will only be done if you have had either a manicure or a Gelish treatment with me.
